THE BIBLE AND SCIENCE

A basic introduction to the biblical and scientific case for Creationism and literal belief in the scientific accuracy and reliability of the biblical record. Resource books: A Case for Creation by Wayne Friar and William P. Davis, Evolution: The Challenge of the Fossil Record by Duane T. Gish, Scientific Creationism by Henry Morris, and In the Beginning by John R. Rice.

CHRISTIAN
COUNSELING

The place of counseling, the Holy Spirit in counseling, and the pastor as counselor; the role of Christian school teachers as counselors; the language of counseling, the love of counseling, and the charge of counseling; getting started in counseling, basic approaches, and data gathering; Insights for dealing with anger, envy, fear, depression, schizophrenia, sexual problems. Resource books: Competent to Counsel and Christian Counselor's Manual by Jay Adams.

COLLEGE
MATH I

Introduction to various mathematical concepts; covers such topics as sets, logic, functions, and mathematical systems. Resource book: Man's Mathematical Models by Bill Williams and Gwen Crotts.

COLLEGE
MATH II

Covers the scope of trigonometry - the functions, inverse functions, combination functions, coordinates, and the function laws.

ENGLISH
COMPOSITION I

A study of the fundamentals of English composition: grammar, parts of speech, punctuation, mechanics, spelling, and the actual construction of sentences, paragraphs, and compositions.

ENGLISH
COMPOSITION II

Designed to aid the student in developing his writing skills. The techniques of effective writing such as introductions, outlines, storytelling, comparison and contrast, and other features which are essential to a good piece of literature are covered.

GREEK I

Introductory course in Greek of the New Testament designed to enable the student to read from the Greek New Testament. Vocabulary, grammar, and accidence are the major studies, ending with an application of all grammar learned by translating I John. Resource books: Greek New Testament (Textus Receptus) and Greek Handbook.

GREEK II

An intermediate course of New Testament Greek specializing in grammar, syntax reviews, and translation drills. Prerequisite: Greek I. Resource books: (see GREEK I)

HISTORY OF CIVILIZATION I

The origin and development of Western man and his institutions, from the ancient Fertile Crescent to the Reformation, are traced. 

HISTORY OF CIVILIZATION II

Traces the development of Western man and his institutions from the Reformation.

INTRO TO GEOGRAPHY

An examination of the basic elements in the earth's environment. Resource book: Geography: Factors and Concepts by White, Renner and Harman.

INTRO TO PHYSICAL SCIENCE

Introduces the student to various areas of science from a biblical viewpoint.

OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY

The student derives a good understanding of the content, history, and customs of the Old Testament from these studies. Helpful background information greatly aids in the student's ability to interpret the Scriptures.

U.S. HISTORY TO 1865

Survey of United States history covering the founding of the United States through the period of the Civil War which threatened to divide this great nation.
