College in High School? It’s Our Dual Enrollment!

How can a high school student go to college at the same time? With Bridgeway Academy’s Dual Enrollment programs! OK, so your high schooler won’t actually be moving out of the house just yet, but he or she will definitely get a head-start on college by partaking in Dual Enrollment.

What comprises Dual Enrollment?
We offer two separate Dual Enrollment programs, each coming from the perspective of a Christian life- and world-view, so your child not only receives a high-quality education but also puts a firm foundation of values in place as they prepare for college.

• College Now!: This is a fully-supported homeschool program that covers an entire school year and includes eight courses. College Now! allows students to earn high school and college credits simultaneously! This package provides full enrollment in our homeschool academy and comes complete with accreditation, support, and transcripts.
• Associate Degree: While this program shares some similarities to College Now! –such as full enrollment into our academy, accreditation, and full support – the Associate Degree program allows students to graduate high school with an Associate’s Degree through a partnership with Ohio Christian University. Talk about getting a leg up!

The benefits of College Now!
Think back to when you were in high school. How cool would it have been to earn college credits and receive instruction from a college professor before you were even in college?!? That’s essentially what your child can experience with College Now! Your student can choose up to eight courses – a full year of college classes – from more than 40 selections. Even more appealing is that they can mix and match courses. So, if your student is ready, he or she can elect to take all college-level courses; if they’d rather gradually ramp up, they can take a combination of high school and college classes.

One of the best parts of the College Now! program is that you and your child don’t have to decide alone. You’ll have the help of an experienced academic advisor through Bridgeway Academy all year long, and your advisor will guide you every step of the way and help ensure your student is meeting both high school and college requirements. Not to mention, you’ll even have another advisor at the college to help with the more advanced academics!

College Now! also offers the benefit of flexibility. Classes start six times throughout the school year, which allows your child to dive right in all at once or take classes gradually throughout the year.

The benefits of the Associate Degree program
If you have a highly motivated student, the Associate Degree program is the perfect opportunity for them to get a jump on college. Students take a total of 10 or 11 college-level courses in both their junior and senior years, enrolling in multiple classes at the same time in either an eight-week format or a semester; each of these courses counts as three college credits and one high school credit.

By sticking with this program, by the time your child graduates from high school, he or she will also graduate with an Associate of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies degree from Ohio Christian University! How many high school grads can boast that on their college applications?

The Associate Degree program offers all of the same benefits as College Now!, including a dedicated academic advisor, instruction from college professors, accreditation, and more–plus the 10 or 11 college-level courses and that prized Associate Degree upon graduation.
