California Homeschool Summary

If you are homeschooling within the state of California, you have 3 options when it comes to choosing how to homeschool:

  1. Some families file their own Private School Affidavit (PSA)
  2. Some use a private tutor who files info for them
  3. Some enroll in a CA homeschool charter school and the charter files for them.

Once you choose an option, you will have to complete the following steps:

  1. Submit an affidavit to your local superintendent between October 1st and October 15th of each school year. Click here to complete the affidavit.
  2. Take attendance of each student on a daily basis, showing a full day/half day/or absence for school.
  3. Know the required subjects children between 1st and 12th grades must take.
