Bridgeway Academy offers a wide variety of live online trimester courses for both elementary and middle school students, all of which deliver the perfect combination of interactivity, independent work, and virtual classroom time with a teacher and classmates once a week.
For elementary school students, there are so many cool courses from which to choose. Whether you’re looking for your child to pick up some life skills (including entrepreneurship, executive functioning, and computer science), learn a new skill (digital storytelling, engineering, Spanish), brush up on the standards (math, writing), or have some interactive fun (Brick by Brick Gadgets, Magic Tree House series, game design, art, music, Minecraft, kitchen chemistry, backyard biology, and more), there’s a class for every interest.
Middle schoolers can choose from many similar course topics as well as awesome classes in which they’ll learn about creative writing, coding robots, cartooning, study skills, and practical skills, among others.

Advanced Digital Storytelling
In this course, students investigate the elements of digital stories by reading, discussing, and analyzing samples. Along the way, they build their own digital stories in a free, online platform. Kids love seeing their stories come to life digitally.
Fun with Science: The Rainforest
Fun fact: The world’s rainforests take up 14% of the Earth and are the home to over half of the world’s animal, plant, and insect species. Another interesting fact: 1 out of 4 ingredients in our modern medicines are found in the rainforest. This is just a sampling of what students will learn as they dive deeply into the many layers and scientific elements of the world’s wonderful and mysterious rainforests! Students in this live class explore all aspects of the world’s rainforests, including those related to biology, physical and cultural geography, and environmental science.
Magic Tree House Series: Ancient China
In this cool class, Jack and Annie are swept away into the land of the Dragon King, and your child will be swept up in the studies of Ancient China! Send your student on a fantastic trip to the exotic land of silk and invention as the class journeys back in time to explore China’s rich history and culture. Art, music, religion, and inventions are just a few of the topics to be examined after reading Day of the Dragon King.
