Oregon Homeschool Summary

If you are homeschooling in the state of Oregon, you will need to complete the following steps:e

  1. Notify the education service district (ESD). This must be done in writing and within 10 days when a child is taught at home or is withdrawn from a public school to be taught at home. The parent should include:
    • The child’s and parent’s names and addresses
    • The child’s and parent’s names and addresses
    • The child’s and parent’s names and addresses
    • The child’s and parent’s names and addresses
  2. Take standardized tests in grades 3, 5, 8, and 10. They must be given by “a qualified neutral person,” and should be completed no later than August 15. For specific test requirements please see the HSLDA document.
